Athletes from a Richmond track club impressed with top-three finishes at an international meet last month.
High school athletes from Kajaks Track & Field Club recently competed under their school banners at the Oregon Relays from April 19 to 20 and snagged four medals.
Grade 12 Kelowna secondary student Elise Drake won first in women's hammer throw with a 54.4-metre throw, while Maple Ridge secondary's Lauren Curtis, also in Grade 12, came second with 48.62 metres.
Lawrence Man, a Grade 11 Burnett secondary student, placed third in men's hammer throw with 55.39 metres, and York House School's Sofia Varma-Vitug, Grade 11, came third in women's triple jump with a distance of 11.62 metres.
