The Richmond Presbyterian Church's chimes choir is holding a fundraiser to rebuild the church organ and buy a set of choir chimes.

A Richmond church choir is hoping to raise money to rebuild its church organ and purchase a set of choir chimes.

The Richmond Presbyterian Church's (RPC) Chimes Choir is holding a soiree on Friday, May 3, and all are invited.

The event will feature live music performances, a bake sale and a silent auction. As well as a "munch and mingle" fellowship with free tea, coffee and desserts.

The organ was built by Victoria's Hugo Spilker in the 1950s and installed in RPC in the 1960s, representatives of the church told the Richmond News.

It began experiencing issues following church renovations in 2014 and RPC is hoping to restore it to the best of its abilities.

The fundraiser also aims to purchase a set of choir chimes for the newly established chimes choir, which has been using handbells on loan from the BC Guild of English Handbell.

The RPC Chimes Choir and Friends Soirée will take place at Richmond Presbyterian Church at 7111 No. 2 Road on May 3 at 7 p.m.

Admission is by donation and all proceeds will go toward rebuilding the organ and purchasing the chimes.
