These days, you can do the hokey pokey, turn yourself about, and are pretty much guaranteed to land in front of a poké shop.
The Hawaiian-born marinated fish dish has had an epic hey day in Vancouver, and the trend is slowly shifting south of the Fraser to Richmond, where Pokey Okey is setting up shop this spring.
Situated off No. 3 Road (at 8060 Anderson Road), Pokey Okey is going to be around the corner from popular Taiwanese spot Memory Corner, and newcomer dessert shop Jack Frost.
The location may seem a little off the beaten path, but it’s actually right across the street from Richmond City Hall, which means plenty of lunchtime poké will be dished up.
While we are expecting further details about Pokey Okey to be revealed soon, it looks like they are prepping for a springtime opening, so you’ll have to stay tuned. But it’s pretty easy to guess they’ll be loading up poké bowls starring chunks of marinated fish and an array of toppings.
Pokey Okey is located at 8060 Anderson Road in Richmond. Follow them on Instagram @pokeyokeyyvr for updates.
