Japanese retailer Muji announced on Twitter last week that it will open its third B.C. location in Richmond.
As the seventh location in Canada, the shop will come to Richmond Centre in April. The retailer currently has two other Metro Vancouver locations at Metrotown in Burnaby and another in downtown Vancouver on Robson Street.
With 14,500 sq. ft., which is nearly twice the size of the Metrotown store, the flagship location on Robson Street is the largest MUJI store outside of Asia.
Originally founded in 1980, the store says it offers a variety of good quality products ranging from household items, clothing and food. The brand boasts simplicity and universality in its products.
Richmond Centre is the 12th most profitable mall in Canada, according to a Canadian Shopping Centre study. The mall is currently preparing for a significant redevelopment which will include apartment towers, a large plaza, parkades and low-level commercial buildings.
