Richmond RCMP is investigating after a body was found in the Fraser River Saturday morning.
Cpl. Adriana Peralta, RCMP spokesperson, told the Richmond News that the body was found in the water in the 3600 block of River Road, near Cornwall Drive.
Police responded to the scene shortly before 10 a.m. The body has since been recovered.
“As this investigation is in its preliminary stages, no further information will be released at this time,” said Peralta.
“However, Richmond RCMP want to assure the public there is no risk to them.”
Richmond Watch General Investigation Section is in charge of the investigation.
