Letter: Thanks for the memories, cannery

Dear Editor,

As a wonderful summer season begins to fade, I would like to extend my gratitude to all those who joined together to make the Friday evening music seasons at the Cannery in Steveston a total success.

The popularity in these events has grown from year to year, to the point that most musicians are playing to a full house with an overflow audience sitting on the grass outside the gate.

While the audience may be graying into their twilight years, the nostalgia of yester-years is brought to life with the music, jokes and antics of the musicians, everyone an entertainer in their own right.

Having attended most evening sessions over the years, I can testify that the audience is a dedicated lot.

These are events that make Steveston so special and it takes the effort of all of us to keep it this way.
