Little has changed in Richmond’s election results since final voting day on Oct. 19.
The Conservative Party of BC has secured three of four Richmond ridings, while the BC NDP has clinched one riding.
In Richmond-Bridgeport, Teresa Wat of the Conservative Party was elected with a dominant 9,907 votes, representing 58.19 per cent of the riding and gaining 265 more votes since Oct. 19.
Linda Li of the BC NDP followed with 5,921 votes and 34.78 per cent of the riding, gaining 205 votes.
There were no significant vote increases for the independent candidates of this riding.
In Richmond Centre, Hon Chan of the Conservative Party remains elected with 8,426 votes and 51.99 per cent of the riding, increasing his vote count by 218.
Henry Yao of the BC NDP increased his vote count by 220 but was not re-elected, sitting at 5,958 and 36.76 per cent of the riding.
Independent candidates in this riding didn’t show any significant increases either.
In Richmond-Queensborough, Steve Kooner of the Conservative Party of BC kept the lead with 10,051 votes and 50.91 per cent of the riding, increasing his vote count by 187 since Oct. 19.
Aman Singh of the BC NDP followed with 8,713 votes and 44.13 per cent of the riding, increasing his vote by 271 – 82 more than Kooner.
Independent candidates in this riding had no significant increases.
Finally, the BC NDP has held on to the lead in highly-disputed Richmond-Steveston with 10,332 votes and 44.27 per cent for Kelly Greene, increasing her vote count by 320.
Michelle Molineaux of the Conservative Party remains in the second spot with 9,848 votes and a 42.2 per cent share, gaining 270 votes since Oct. 19.
Independent candidate Jackie Lee, who got the most votes of any independent in Richmond, sits third with 2,354 and 10.09 per cent of the riding. Lee increased his vote count by 61 since Oct. 19.
The BC NDP has taken the lead with a majority government of 47 seats, followed by the Conservative Party of BC with 44 seats and the BC Green Party with two seats.
