Community Safety Career Achievement Award - Richmond Fire Rescue:
Captain Troy Tack
Troy Tack was hired as a firefighter on May 7, 1990. It was evident immediately that Track was a diligent, dedicated and hard working employee, learning the ropes quickly.
His warm caring demeanour, gregarious personality and passion for excellence make Tack likable and well-respected.
In his career, Tack has excelled in all aspects of firefighting and airport emergency response firefighting. It was while in the training division that Tack was instrumental in securing incident command system (ICS) training for the entire suppression division.
His greatest impact on the officers and pool officers of A-shift was made when he single handedly arranged and trained each member individually in the skill set development of the ICS.
Tack truly lives the mission statement of the Richmond Fire Rescue:
To enhance the city's liveability through service excellence in public education, fire prevention and emergency response.
