North Delta shooting now a homicide investigation

Delta Police responded at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 14 to the shooting in the 11100 block of 82nd Ave. Shortly after the shooting, Surrey RCMP responded to a call of a vehicle on fire.

A targeted shooting, related to the ongoing BC Gang conflict, has now become a homicide investigation for Delta Police.

Delta Police said in a Friday (Dec. 22) news release that the victim of the Dec. 14th shooting in the 11100 block of 82nd Ave. in North Delta has died in hospital as a result of the injuries sustained.

Members of the DPD Major Crime Section assumed the investigation at the time of the shooting.

“As reported on Dec. 15, this homicide was targeted, and the victim is known to police,” said A/Insp. James Sandberg, public affairs manager with Delta Police. “At the request of the family, the DPD will not be identifying the victim publicly. 

“The Delta Police Department remains committed to community safety and well-being and will be investigating this incident to hold accountable the people responsible for this shooting. We ask our community for assistance in doing so.”
