Police investigating Lake Cowichan death seek dashcam footage

Police are looking for dashcam footage from midnight to noon Sept. 3 in the area of Nitinat through Youbou to the entrance of Lake Cowichan at North Shore and Youbou roads.

The Island’s major crime unit is looking for dashcam footage from early September in connection with a suspected homicide in Lake Cowichan.

The body of Tavis Cragg was found Sept. 3 by Lake Cowichan RCMP at a Cowichan Lake Road residence.

Cragg had been reported missing from Nanaimo the same day.

A suspect was arrested at the time and later released.

Police said Friday that they are looking for dashcam footage from midnight to noon Sept. 3 in the area of Nitinat through Youbou to the entrance of Lake Cowichan at North Shore and Youbou roads.

Anyone with footage from that time and location or information is asked to call the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit information line at 250-380-6211.
