Vancouver police have identified 24-year-old Luis Rosas Saenz as the victim in last week's murder in southwest Vancouver.

Saenz was found with a stab wound on the street near the intersection of West 57 Avenue and Southwest Marine Drive around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, according to Cst. Tania Visintin. He later died in hospital. Detectives are actively investigating, she adds.

"They do believe that given the time of day it would have been rush hour traffic and people were driving on the road at that time," she said during a press conference.

Police are requesting anyone who drove by the area between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. and has dashcam footage to send it to them.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Vancouver Police Department tip line at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
