Britannia Shipyards closed for TV shoot

Britannia Shipyards, a popular historic site in Richmond, will be closed for several days this week because it’s being taken over for a film shoot.

Crew members for the TV production “The Terror: Infamy” have temporarily transformed the shipyards to depict a 1940s Japanese internment camp in Los Angeles.

Filming is happening Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The Shipyards will re-open to the public on Thursday, Feb. 7.

Britannia Shipyards is pleased to be hosting the @amc_tv series “The Terror: Infamy”. Our site has temporarily been transformed into a Japanese internment set in Los Angeles in the 1940’s. Over the next few weeks we will have limited access into our buildings, with a full site closure on February 1st, 4th, 5th and 6th. Visitors may be asked to step aside while cameras are rolling or construction activity is taking place. Revenue from this film production will go directly towards improvements at Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site.
