The Steveston Highway exchange is being expanded.

Highway 99 will be closed to traffic in both directions on the night of Dec. 5 to Dec. 6 due to construction of the Steveston overpass.

Crews will be pouring a large section of the concrete deck on the north half of the new overpass.

The closure will take place overnight on Dec. 5 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

Vehicles travelling on Highway 99 will be detoured using the on- and off-ramps at Steveston Highway.

The northbound loop ramp from Steveston Highway onto Highway 99 will be closed and traffic will be rerouted to access the north side on-ramp.

The work is being completed overnight to minimize daytime traffic disruptions, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.

The overpass project began in mid-2022 and is expected to be completed in 2025. The project budget is $87.5 million.
