Trees Organic Cheesecake Cafe is expected to open in Richmond’s Capstan Station.

A long-time Vancouver-based cheesecake cafe is planning on opening a location at Richmond's newest SkyTrain station.

Trees Organic Coffee and Cheesecake is expected to open at the Capstan Canada Line Station this fall, but signs are already up at the location advertising its arrival.

The business has been serving the Vancouver community since 1996 and offers cheesecake, coffee, breakfast, lunch and pastries on its menu with everything made in-house.

Peter Chiung, owner of Trees Organic, said they're planning on opening seven or eight more locations this year and will "expand to every city in the Lower Mainland."

Gilmore, Burquitlam and Oakridge-41st Avenue SkyTrain stations are on the list of locations expected to see Trees Organic later this year.

There are around 20 commercial retail spaces that operate or are under contract across the transit network, according to a TransLink spokesperson.

"These include the new Trees outlet at Capstan Station and we are proud to work with a local business at the new station," said TransLink.

Most of the commercial units at SkyTrain stations are food-related to cater to the "fast-paced environment of commuters."

"TransLink is committed to utilizing all its retail spaces and upcoming new outlets to generate revenue in support of transit services and provide more convenient amenities for customers.”
