New independent cafe soft opens in Richmond

Richmond's coffee scene gets new addition

A new coffee shop has opened quietly this month in Richmond City Centre.

Miion Cafe is located in Richmond's Paramount building on Cook Road, between No. 3 and Cooney roads.

Its drink menu features various drip and pour-over coffees, espresso drinks and tea lattes.

Miion's food menu offers a small selection of baked goods including double-baked croissants, cookies and ube cream cheese muffins. There are also salads, sandwiches and fruit bowl options.

The cafe's concept is inspired by the idea of an "ion" and focuses on themes of "change and new possibilities."

Owner Mia believes a cup of coffee is more than just a drink. Rather, it is a way to "spark inspiration or provide a pathway to alleviate anxiety," according to Miion's website.

The cafe is minimalistic with limited seating as there are only three tables and several chairs for each.

Miion Cafe is at 130-6386 No. 3 Rd.
