Hot deal: Air Canada and WestJet offer massive sales on Vancouver flights

Travellers looking for cheap flights from and to Vancouver can enjoy significant sales right now. 

Air Canada and WestJet each have sales on domestic, transborder, and some international flights, allowing Lower Mainland residents to fly to key destinations at reduced costs. 

Flair Airlines is also offering a low-cost offer for travellers looking to fly back to Vancouver after a trip.

WestJet

WestJet is offering up to 30 per cent off base fares (the price before taxes and fees) on domestic flights for travel between Sept. 23, 2024, and April 30, 2025. The sale applies to UltraBasic, Econo and Premium tickets.

  • 30 per cent off select base fares: travel between Jan. 6 – Feb. 14, 2025
  • 20 per cent off select base fares: travel between Sept. 23 – Dec. 19, 2024; Feb. 15 – April 30, 2025
  • 15 per cent off select base fares: Dec. 20, 2024 – Jan. 5, 2025

The following blackout dates apply: Oct. 10-11, 14, Nov. 7-8, 11, and Dec. 21-23, 26-30 in 2024 and Jan. 2-5, Feb. 13-14, 17, March 20-21, 23, and April 17-18, 21 in 2025.

Travellers must enter the promotional code "3Q9M2GZ" by 10:59 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 to take advantage of the deal. 

WestJet is offering up to 25 per cent off base fares (the price before taxes and fees) on U.S. flights for travel between Sept. 23, 2024, and April 25, 2025. The sale applies to UltraBasic, Econo, Premium and Business tickets.

  • 25 per cent off select base fares: This offer is valid on WestJet wholly operated flights between Canada and Los Angeles, Palm Springs, San Diego, San Francisco, Orange County – no code-share.
  • 20 per cent off select base fares: This offer is valid on WestJet wholly operated flights between Canada and Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Fort Myers, Tampa – no code-share.
  • 15 per cent off select base fares: This offer is valid on WestJet wholly operated flights between Canada and Phoenix, Atlanta, Austin, Nashville, Boston, Denver, Detroit, Washington, Houston, New York (JFK), Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Chicago, Portland, Seattle – no code-share.

The following blackout dates apply: Sept. 28-30, Oct. 14-15, Nov. 8-12, 15-17, 22-23, and Dec. 18-31 in 2024; Jan. 1-6, Feb. 15-16, March 21-22, 25-29, and April 19-20 in 2025.

WestJet is offering up to 15 per cent off base fares (the price before taxes and fees) on flights to Mexico and the Caribbean for travel between Sept. 23, 2024, and April 30, 2025. The sale applies to UltraBasic, Econo and Premium tickets.

The following blackout dates apply: Sept. 28-30, Nov. 8-12, 15-17, and Dec.18-23, 26-31 in 2024; Jan. 1-6, and Feb. 12-18 in 2025.

Air Canada

Canada's flag carrier is offering 20 per cent off base fares to all destinations within Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and select destinations in the U.S. for travel until April 30, 2025. The sale applies to Economy Class (Basic, Standard, Flex) tickets.

  1. Discount of 20 per cent: Travel must occur within the following period: on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays until April 30, 2025.
  2. Discount of 10 per cent: Travel must occur within the following period: on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays until April 30, 2025.

The following blackout dates apply: Oct. 10,11, 14, and 15, Dec. 18-23, and 26 in 2024; Jan 5, Feb. 13-18, March 7-9, and March 14-16 in 2025.

The travel must occur in the following combinations:

  • Between British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Atlanta, Austin, Portland, Phoenix, Palm Springs, San Diego, Seattle, San Francisco, Orange County.
  • Between British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario 
  • Between Canada and Honolulu, Kahului, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Maui.
  • Between Canada (except Montreal, Quebec City, Vancouver) and Miami, Sarasota, West Palm Beach.
  • Between Canada (except Montreal, Quebec City, Vancouver, Ottawa) and Fort Lauderdale.
  • Between Ontario, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia 
  • Between Ontario, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia (except Halifax) 

Travellers must book tickets by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 to take advantage of the deal. 

Flair Airlines 

Canada's ultra-low-cost carrier continues to offer its $1 deal on base fares, providing travellers with a jaw-dropping deal home from key destinations across the continent. 

Travellers looking for flights to Vancouver can currently enjoy deals on select northbound flights from the U.S., Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic.
