Surrey RCMP say a group was allegedly supplying street-level drug traffickers with cocaine, methamphetamine, fluorofentanyl and GHB throughout Surrey, Langley and Coquitlam.

Large quantities of illicit drugs, illegal firearms and $116,000 in cash were seized in Surrey earlier this year following an investigation into an alleged drug trafficking network that was operating in Metro Vancouver.

The bust, announced by Surrey RCMP Thursday, stems from an investigation into a drug trafficking group that began in August 2023.

Police say they executed an initial search warrant on Oct. 17, 2023 in the 7400-block of 184th Street.

Four other locations were subsequently identified, with search warrants executed Jan. 31, 2024 at these four locations:

  • A residence in the 19400-block of 68th Avenue in Surrey
  • A residence in the 9100-block of 152nd Street in Surrey
  • A residence in the 2100-block of Kelly Avenue in Port Coquitlam
  • A storage unit in the 1100-block of Kingsway Avenue in Coquitlam

"During the execution of the search warrants, four people were arrested and later released pending further investigation," said Cpl. Sarbjit K. Sangha, Surrey RCMP media relations officer in a news release.

Sangha added that police will recommend charges in a report to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.

Police seized 2.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, 30 litres of GBL (GHB),1.5 kilograms of cocaine, 430 grams of fluorofentanyal, $116,000 in cash, a bulletproof vest and six firearms.

Police also seized a 2024 Range Rover, a 2019 Acura RDX, a 2014 Dodge Durango and a 2004 Ford F350.

"Surrey RCMP Drug Unit focuses on disrupting drug trafficking networks to prevent overdose deaths and to stop the toxic drug supply in our communities," Sangha said.

"It is believed that this group was supplying street-level drug traffickers with cocaine, methamphetamine, fluorofentanyl and GHB throughout Surrey, Langley and Coquitlam."

Editor's note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the cash amount seized was $160,000.
