It'll feel a bit more like autumn this week as the city gets a mix of sunny days and showers.
Environment Canada meteorologist Gary Dickinson says Metro Vancouver will get "a little bit of everything for the week" weatherwise, but nothing extreme is predicted.
"It looks like we should have a good start on Monday with a ridge of high pressure setting up," he tells V.I.A.
While there may be some fog patches in the morning that should clear out leaving sunny skies behind and allowing the day to peak at around 19 C. Weatherhood shows some neighbourhoods might even crack 20 C, like Ladner or North Capilano.
However, while the overnight period should be clear (though cool, at 11 C), Tuesday will be a grey day.
"A weather system is approaching the area through the day," says Dickinson. "With showers developing sometime between midday and into the afternoon for Metro Vancouver."
In some rainier neighbourhoods in Metro Vancouver, like Deep Cove or Port Coquitlam up to 5 mm is expected to fall, according to Weatherhood, though everywhere can expect showers at some point.
A high of just 16 C is expected, though it won't get as cool overnight, dropping only a few degrees to around 13 C.
Wednesday that system is expected to have moved on and a new high-pressure ridge will be building up, allowing the skies to clear up. That ridge will remain through Thursday, so each day should get to 19 C. However, each night will drop to around 11 C.
Friday, another weak system is expected to move in, with a 60 per cent chance of showers.
"It looks like with these weather systems, we should get some precipitation, but we don't anticipate any warnings," says Dickinson.
"Just a mixed bag for the week."
