Canada's top airlines have announced massive sales over the Canada Day long weekend.
Air Canada and WestJet have all destinations across Canada, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean, on sale, as well as some select international cities. Numerous destinations are on sale for flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
The airlines will continue to offer discounted sales a couple of days after July 1.
Air Canada
Canada's flag carrier offers discounts on cities in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean as part of its promotion through July 3.
The Air Canada sale applies to new flights in economy, premium economy, or business for travel until Feb. 16, 2025; it only applies to undiscounted Air Canada-published base fares.
Tickets must be booked by July 3 at 8:59 p.m.
Some of Air Canada's sale fares from Vancouver include one-way flights to Montreal on Sept. 25 for $206, Toronto on Oct.12 for $161, and Orange County on Sept. 16 for $171 (see slide two).
WestJet
Following a second strike notice from WestJet's aircraft maintenance engineers, the federal government imposed binding arbitration between the airline and the union, preventing job action over the holiday weekend.
Customers with WestJet flights in all fare classes scheduled between June 26 and June 28 are entitled to a free one-time fee waiver for changes or cancellations.
WestJet's scheduled flights will take off as planned — barring any unexpected delays and cancellations — and the airline is tempting travellers to book flights from now through Feb. 16, 2025.
Travellers can save on seven million seats to over 100 destinations worldwide to any place the carrier flies.
The WestJet sale apples to undiscounted flights in UltraBasic, Econo, Premium, and Business classes.
Tickets must be booked by July 3 at 10:59 p.m.
