Richmond Community Foundation launches fund to help poverty reduction and social inclusion.

Charities, non-profits and Indigenous-serving organizations can now apply for poverty reduction and social inclusion funding through the Richmond Community Foundation.

The Government of B.C. announced a $25 million investment in the Community Prosperity Fund to help local organizations work on reducing poverty in local communities.

The funding will be implemented over up to three years to help with both operational expenses and project delivery funding. This makes sure that non-profits can decide what would most benefit them and their communities.

Richmond Community Foundation will review applications at the local level.

“The Community Prosperity Fund will be immensely beneficial for charities, non-profits, and Indigenous-serving organizations," said Ed Gavsie, executive director of the Richmond Community Foundation.

"We know these organizations improve our communities by advancing poverty reduction and social inclusion. In Richmond, this type of funding is essential, allowing our community to grow in a way that fosters connection and a sense of belonging among all residents."

The application deadline for the Community Prosperity Fund is June 24 and can be submitted here.
