Easter egg hunts, craft markets and bunnies — there is plenty for Richmondites to do this rainy long weekend.

1. Enjoy family-friendly Easter activities at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery

The Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site is holding its annual Easter Salmon Scavenger Hunt along with a series of family-friendly activities throughout this long weekend. Special event admission will be charged: $5.50 for youth (2 years old and above) and $8.50 for adults (18 years old and above).

Date and time: April 7 to 9, 2023 (10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)

Place: Gulf of Georgia Cannery Historic Site, 12138 Fourth Ave

2. Meet Easter bunnies and shop local crafts at Lulu Island Winery

Two craft markets will be held over the three-day weekend and participants will get to meet adorable bunnies rescued by Rabbitats. Community members can check out local vendors while tasting B.C. wines, and participants are advised to pre-register for the Easter egg hunts.

Date: April 7 to 8, 2023 (Bunny Kisses & Easter Wishes Market) and April 9, 2023 (Easter Hop 'n' Shop)

Place: Lulu Island Winery, 16880 Westminster Hwy

3. Support local creators at the Asian Easter Market

Meet local Asian creators selling fashion, arts, crafts and services at the two-day Asian Easter Market this weekend. Admission is free.

Date and time: April 8 to 9, 2023 (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

Place: Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport (Ballroom), 8181 Cambie Rd

4. Enjoy the K-pop festival and kids market at Aberdeen Square

Wonder Dance Studio and Aberdeen Square will have two separate events happening this weekend: the K-pop festival and the Wonder Kids Market. Local dancers will be performing random play dances of K-pop hits on Saturday, and community members will get to check out more than 10 vendor booths while enjoying interactive stage performances on Sunday. 

Date and time: April 8 (K-pop festival) and 9 (Wonder Kids Market), 2023 (1 to 4 p.m.)

Place: Aberdeen Square, 4000 No. 3 Rd

5. Join the Resurrection Egg Hunt at the Trinity Lutheran Church

The Trinity Lutheran Church is inviting children up to 10 years old to participate in a Resurrection Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. The event will kick off with the retelling of Jesus' resurrection, followed by an Easter egg hunt on church grounds. Children will have to bring their own baskets and they can exchange full baskets for a goodie bag.

Date and time: April 8, 2023 (11 a.m.)

Place: Trinity Lutheran Church, 7100 Granville Ave

6. Look for Easter eggs and get prizes at Kidtropolis

Find Easter eggs for a chance to get a free admission pass to Kidtropolis this Sunday. 

Date and time: April 9, 2023 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Place: Kidtropolis, 110-5940 No. 2 Rd

7. Learn how to create compost at a free City of Richmond workshop

Community members will get to learn how to compost at home and get tips from an expert at a free workshop hosted by the city. Hands-on activities and Q&A sessions will be available. Registration is available online.

Date and time: April 8, 2023 (10 to 11 a.m.)

Place: Terra Nova Rural Park, 2631 Westminster Hwy

8. Check out the spring carnival at Lansdowne Centre before it leaves

The spring carnival at Lansdowne Centre will be wrapping up by the end of this long weekend. Enjoy rides, fair games and food vendors with friends and family before the carnival bids Richmond goodbye.

Date and time: now until April 10, 2023 (12 to 10 p.m., except for April 10 when closing time is 6 p.m.)
