It’s still a little early for Santa to deliver gifts for Christmas, but two of his "elves" got a head start in delivering mysterious packages to residents of Richmond’s Seafair neighbourhood this past weekend.
Yvette and John Sequeira, who lives in the neighbourhood, were a little surprised to hear their doorbell ring on Saturday morning and when they opened their door, two children dropped off a small white package, topped with a green bow, and a message.
“This care kit is brought to you by Seafair’s No.1 elves, with thanks from the Neighbourhood Small Grants. Our 7 p.m. cheers may have stopped but we hope this kit brings a little cheer to your home and a reminder that ‘we are all in this together,’” read the letter.
In the package included goodies, a paper crane and another message that said the Sequeiras were the “recipients of 1 of 100 comfort kits.” It added that the paper crane represented peace, love and hope.
Yvette told the Richmond News that they were very touched by the kind gesture.
“Kudos to the parents and children who did this project,” said Yvette.
“Greatly appreciate with all our hearts for bringing all the joys to our neighbourhood with your creative project and hard work. Kudos to your children – the little elves – for helping out.”
