Coca-Cola’s iconic red truck will be making a stop at the annual Richmond RCMP Toy Drive this Saturday.

The Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan will be at the event on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lansdowne Centre near the Canada Line Station.

In support of the Richmond Christmas Fund, the community is encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys or a suggested minimum $10 donation.

The red truck will be decorated with lights and will offer attendees the chance to take a picture with the vehicle driven by Santa Claus.

For the first time, Coca-Cola Canada will also host Canada’s Kindest Community Contest to recognize acts of kindness.

Richmondites will be able to nominate their own or others’ acts of kindness in the community. The community with the most submissions across the country will be given a $50,000 donation to a local non-profit.

The caravan was launched as an opportunity to spread optimism coast-to-coast, said Todd Parsons, CEO of Coca-Cola Canada Bottling, in a release issued last Thursday.

Nominations can be made directly at the caravan stop or on Coca-Cola's website.
