Sherry Liu and Catelyne Ma designed the winning ERASE bullying-Respectful City posters for this year. One poster design will be selected for 2017.

High school students in Richmond are once again invited to express themselves artistically by submitting a design to the Youth Artist Poster Contest that illustrates an ERASE bullying message of a respectful, safe and connected Richmond.

For the second year, this contest stems from the Respectful City Initiative presented by the City of Richmond and School District No. 38 that works to bring awareness about ERASE bullying in our community. Deadline for submissions is Nov. 21.

“The City of Richmond Youth Service Plan aims to create an environment that generates opportunities for Richmond’s youth to have a safe and healthy journey into adulthood,” said Mayor Malcolm Brodie.

This opportunity is open to all youth in Grades 8 to 12. Poster submission criteria can be found online at Richmond.ca/Youth under Youth Initiatives. A selection panel will review all submissions and select one poster design, which will promote ERASE bullying and a respectful city throughout the community, online and through social media starting in January 2017. In addition, the winner will receive a $100 gift certificate for programs or services offered at community recreation facilities.
