Some of the beloved mechanical rides will be back at the Steveston Salmon Festival this year, organizers have decided.
Planning is still underway for the festival, but it will span two days this year, with mechanical rides and inflatable activities to run all day on June 30.
The event will continue on July 1 with the fullfledged Salmon Festival, meaning midway, vendors, carnival and all.
"With Ships to Shore being here and with all the other activities that will be going on that weekend we just felt that it would be an extra bonus, to have the rides that day," said Janice Froese, the festival's administrator.
More details about this year's Steveston Salmon Festival will be made public after final planning wraps up.
