Out and About: Steveston Salmon Festival welcomes thousands

A vibrant parade, live music and food were enjoyed by many.

The 77th Steveston Salmon Festival and Canada Day were celebrated with a wide range of family-friendly events on Monday.

Huge crowds visited Steveston for a good time.

A colourful, vibrant parade with spectacular floats and bands of marchers set the tone for celebrating our country.

Richmondites and many visitors enjoyed the lively floats together with live music, a trade show, delicious food and a variety of activities for all ages.

Excellent BBQ salmon, chow mein, samosas and many other great foods were available for sale to feed the hungry crowds.

The live music rang out from stages between Steveston Village and Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site, including the Spirit of Steveston stage and the new Catch of the Day stage.

The fun, peaceful good times highlighted more reasons to be grateful for where we live.
