If you were on the Steveston Village boardwalk on Sunday early afternoon, you were either waiting for Santa's arrival or trying to get out of the crowd of families who were.
Families filled the boardwalk from the entrance to the Fisherman's Wharf to the Gulf of Georgia Cannery to welcome Santa's arrival this weekend.
Kids and families waved and screamed when Santa was spotted on an RCMSARS rescue vessel nearing the pier around 1 p.m.
Holiday music played from the rescue vessel as the jolly old elf waved back with his signature "Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas" greeting.
Once Santa landed, he headed up the boardwalk, guided by the Richmond RCMP and volunteers, and gave hugs and high-fives to families and children alike.
