Poll results: News readers say they started Christmas shopping early this year

Nearly 50 per cent of readers voted they started shopping before December

Almost 50 per cent of Richmond News readers said they started their holiday shopping way before Christmas this year.

A total of 47.9 per cent of readers voted they already started buying Christmas presents late November while 18.7 per cent of voters said they wait until December hits before they start shopping.

Meanwhile, 22.7 per cent said they are not buying presents this year and around 10 per cen of voters say they don't celebrate Christmas.

Richmond News polled 865 readers and asked the question: Have you started buying Christmas presents yet?

The poll ran from 11/19/2024 to 12/18/2024. Of the 865 votes, we can determine that 305 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:

Results are based on an online study of adult Richmond News readers that are located in Vancouver. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 3.33%, 19 times out of 20.
