Fun fact about Richmond...
Do you know that a tram bridge connected Vancouver and Richmond in the early 1900s?
In 1902, the Vancouver and Lulu Island Railway Bridge was built as part of an expansion of the British Columbia Electric Railway (BCER) interurban system across the Lower Mainland, according to the city's website.
Two trips per day would run on the bridge. In 1905, the line was leased to the BCER, who electrified the track and began interurban and freight service.
