A care home will be holding a charity family day party at Blundell Park next Saturday.

Rosewood Manor promises a fun-filled day with live performances including lion dance, taiko, magic, live music by local performers and a performance by the care home's music therapist.

Delicious BBQ will be sold at the parking lot in front of Rosewood Manor and participants will also get to enjoy treats from the Rainbow Ice Cream Truck at the park.

The community will also get to enjoy children’s games and face painting.

All proceeds will go toward improving Rosewood Manor’s dementia-friendly garden, designed to cater to the needs of the residents and includes a koi pond, edible plants and a safe circular path for independent walks.

The care home is trying to fix it up to encourage residents and families to spend more time outside, and it’s currently $11,500 away from its $20,000 goal.

The event will take place on Sept. 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds will go toward upgrading the pond in the dementia-friendly garden.
