The Richmond Country Farms is set to re-open its doors to customers this Thursday after having delayed their annual opening day because of the global pandemic.

While the local family-owned market will be open daily, they are highlighting multiple safety protocols to protect their customers and staff against the spread of COVID-19.

A limited number of people will be allowed inside and outside of the store at any time to help with physical distancing, according to a noticed posted on the market's Facebook page.

Patrons will be required to enter through the one main entrance at the front of the market and exit from either the east or west check-outs.

The ground in the aisles will be labelled with arrows to help direct patrons in the appropriate one-way traffic direction.

Shoppers are reminded to me mindful when they are selecting their produce and to "touch only what (they) intend to purchase" and are encouraged to pay with debit and credit cards with tap rather than cash at the check-out.

Meanwhile, plastic shields have been installated at tills, baskets and payment machines will be sanitized after every use, and “high touch traffic areas” such as cooler door handles will be cleaned as often as possible.

The store will not be accepting the following at this time:

  • Re-usable bags
  • Refunds or exchanges
  • Empty glass Avalon bottle returns

The Richmond Country Farms will open every day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
