Richmond seniors who are 55 years old or above will get to check out dozens of free or low-cost physical and wellness activities next week.
B.C.Seniors Week, which recognizes the community contributions by seniors, will run from June 3 to 9 this year.
With more than 25 activities on offer in Richmond, highlights include a pickleball tournament for beginners and Hawaiian hula dancing on June 4, walking basketball on June 5, as well as outdoor games and swimming on June 7.
To kick off the week-long celebration, the city will hold a free opening event at the Richmond Olympic Oval on June 3. The event will feature remarks by Mayor Malcolm Brodie, keynote presentations and tours of the Oval. Free transportation will be available between the opening event, Richmond community centres and Minoru Centre for Active Living.
Due to limited space, pre-registration is required for most activities. For more information and to register, click here.
