Richmond pop-up event focuses on health, wellness

Agencies and community groups will continue pop-ups until December.

A pop-up event which includes information about health and wellness takes place this Thursday in front of the Brighouse library.

The City of Richmond is focusing on health and wellness at a monthly community services pop-up event.

More than a dozen groups, from service agencies to sports groups will once again be giving out information in front of Brighouse library this Thursday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. to help Richmond residents navigate various services.

The June 13 pop-up will focus on health and wellness.

Information will be given about building social connections, mental health supports, nutrition, dental screening and stopping smoking.

There will be help for addiction services and affordable housing as well as help applying for government assistance.

Service providers include Richmond Multicultural Community Services, UBC Dentistry, Richmond Cares, Richmond Gives, Chimo, Richmond Centre for Disability, the Richmond Sports Council, Turning Point Recovery and more.

The community services pop-ups have been taking place since December 2022 and are jointly organized by the city and the Richmond Public Library.

They will continue the second Thursday of the month until Dec. 12.
