A shredding event in Richmond is fundraising to help support parrots at a bird sanctuary in Metro Vancouver.
Greyhaven Exotic Bird Sanctuary, a non-profit society, is holding the paper shredding event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 at 5188 Westminster Hwy.
The society provides rescue and protection for parrots and offers an adoption program to place parrots in new homes.
Community members can have as much of their confidential shredding done for $10 per box or bag.
There will also be plants and various gift items on sale at the event.
