After a year’s hiatus due to the pandemic, the annual fundraising Christmas Car Cruise through Steveston is back.

Dozens of classic cars are once more set to cruise the village Sunday, Dec. 5 around 12:15 p.m. to collect toys and cash donations for the Richmond Christmas Fund.

One of the cruise volunteers, Doug Harder, said around 25 classic cars have signed up thus far, with a few more likely to come before the event.

“We start at the parking lot for the Steveston Hotel and we go through the village,” explained Harder.

“We stay inside the village, because a lot of the cars are antiques and we don’t want to be straying too far.

“Plus, it keeps it very local and keep it very much like a family event.”

Harder said the organizers will have a tent set up in the Steveston Hotel parking lot between 12:15 and 2:30 p.m. for people to drop off an unwrapped toy or cash.
