From meeting local Olympians to taking part in the annual Terry Fox , Richmondites have plenty to do this weekend.

1. Friends of the Richmond Library mini book sale

A mini book sale offering a wide range of gently used and almost as good as new English and Chinese books is taking place this weekend. Book topics and genres range from fiction, classics, literature, children's, cookbooks and more. Proceeds from the sale benefit the Richmond public libraries. Cash sale only.

Date and time: Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Place: Richmond Public Library Cambie branch, 150-11590 Cambie Rd.

2. Mid-Autumn Festival activities at Lansdowne Centre

Richmond's Lansdowne Centre is hosting a day of Mid-Autumn Festival activities and photo spots for the community. Activities include riddle guessing games, arts and crafts, lacquer fan-making workshop and more. Donations are appreciated for activities with proceeds to benefit the Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital Foundation.

Date and time: Saturday, Sept. 14. 12 to 4 p.m.

Place: Lansdowne Centre atrium next to food court, 5300 No. 3 Rd.

3. Mid-Autumn lantern festival at Richmond Night Market

More than 400 lanterns will be lit up at the Richmond Night Mark in honour of the Mid-Autumn Festival. B.C. Premier David Eby will be officiating the lighting ceremony for the fire dragon festival this Saturday. There is also a giant dragon lantern centerpiece. General admission is $8.50 per person

Date and time: Saturday, Sept. 14. 7:45 p.m.

Place: Richmond Night Market, 8351 River Rd

4. Meet-and-greet with local Olympians

Richmond's own Olympians Evan Dunfee and Camryn Rogers have returned home from the Paris Olympic Games and will be meeting the community for autograph and photo opportunities this weekend.

Date and time: Sunday, Sept. 15, 2 to 4 p.m.

Place: Minoru Centre for Active Living Plaza, 7191 Granville Ave.

5. Annual Terry Fox Run

The annual Terry Fox Run is taking place in Steveston this year. Participants of all ages and fitness levels can walk, run or wheel along the route in the family-friendly event. The Terry Fox Run continues the legacy of Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope to raise funds for cancer research. Registration is free and donations are encouraged. 

Date and time: Sunday, Sept. 15, 10 a.m.

Place: Garry Point Park, 12011 Seventh Ave.
