Metro Vancouver has announced that the Grouse Grind Trail will open on Wednesday, May 2 at 6:15 a.m. after being closed for the winter months due to ice and snow covering the path.
The hike is rated as ‘difficult’ and starts from 300 metres elevation then climbs to 1,100 metres over a distance of approximately 2.5 kilometres. The Grouse Grind Trail takes roughly 2.5 hours to complete and has been part of Grouse Mountain Regional Park in North Vancouver since May 2017.
The trail will be closed again for safety maintenance starting on May 22 and the work is expected to take a few weeks to complete.
The #GrouseGrind Trail will officially open tomorrow at 6:15 am. It’s still pretty cold at the top of the mountain, so be sure to wear sensible footwear and pack extra layers. Happy hiking! @grousemountain
