In February, Muji announced it’s opening a store at Richmond Centre and now, the Japanese retailer has announced its opening date: April 28.

This will be Muji’s third location in B.C. and will occupy 6,355 square feet of retail space, less than half the size of the store’s flagship location on Vancouver’s Robson Street.

As part of the store’s grand opening on the 28th, the first 500 customers on Saturday and Sunday will receive a limited edition Muji Richmond Centre tote bag with a purchase of $20 or more.

“There are many people who already know about Muji in the Richmond area,” said Toru Akita, president of Muji Canada in a press release.

“We’ve received many requests to open a store in Richmond. After considering different locations, we are pleased that we finally found the right place. Although the store is smaller than the other locations in British Columbia, we will still offer a wide variety of products as well as the latest store experience. I sincerely hope that the people of Richmond will visit and love our store.”

Muji’s Richmond Centre location will offer Muji Canada’s full range of merchandise with more than 4,000 items including household goods, apparel, plants, stationery and food.

Originally founded in 1980, the Muji brand boasts simplicity and universality in its products. Muji expanded to Canada in 2014.
