It is a special week for hockey fans, players and Daniel and Henrik Sedin as the twins announced their impending retirement early this week. Their final home game was last night at Rogers Arena.
The whole city has been honouring the hockey superstars in many ways. On Twitter, many Richmond residents expressed their gratitude to the classy twins using hashtag #ThankYouSedins. TransLink also put “Thank you Daniel and Henrik” on the virtual screens across some SkyTrain and bus stations in Metro Vancouver, including Canada Line.
The Canucks won 4-3 in overtime against the Arizona Coyotes yesterday night. Even though the game was Sedins’ last home game, the twins will play the final game of their careers Saturday night in Edmonton.
Thank you Sedins for giving me a very nice 18 years of hockey! It’s was a great ending of your career as the greatest hockey players of Canucks. Thank you !
