The holiday season can be busy enough without trying to plan an extravagant meal for the whole family. If you’re looking to take the pressure off of Christmas by eating out, these Richmond restaurants promise festive offerings.
Festive Afternoon Tea at Fairmont Vancouver Airport
Lift your pinkies at this classy afternoon tea. Snack on savoury bites and decadent house-made treats. Seatings run through Dec. 30. $49 for adults and $25 for children.
Steveston Seafood House
Enjoy a four course prix fixe menu for Christmas dinner near the Steveston Pier. On the menu is ceviche, carpaccio, goat cheese salad, cheesecake, chocolate mousse and a choice of turkey or three types of seafood for the main. $75 per person.
Jingle Bell Buffet at Country Meadows Golf Course
Feast at this lunch buffet looking out over the beautifully manicured golf course until Dec. 24. $22 per person.
CAVU Kitchen & Bar
CAVU serves up Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day brunch so you don’t have to. On the dinner menu are fresh carvings of meat, pasta, chilled seafood and more. For brunch try eggs benedicts and waffles with whipped cream before moving on to roast turkey or dim sum. They told the Richmond News there are still tables available. Christmas Eve: $44.95 for adults, $25 for children. Christmas brunch: $43.95 for adults, $24.95 for children.
The Apron at the Westin Wall Centre
Choose a special Christmas turkey, tenderloin or one of the usual sumptuous offerings on the menu. The restaurant told the News tables are filling up fast, but a couple Christmas reservations are still up for grabs.
Harold’s Bistro and Bar
Harold’s is serving up both brunch and dinner Christmas Day. Load your plate with eggs benedict, buttermilk pancakes and dim sum for brunch. Or, for dinner choose from roast turkey with all the trimmings, salmon or mushroom and mascarpone ravioli. Brunch: $42.95 for adults, $24.95 for children. Dinner: $44.95 for adults, $26.95 for children.
Richmond Centre White Spot
Two White Spot restaurants in the Lower Mainland (Richmond Centre and Vancouver’s Kingsway location) will be open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Christmas Day to support local charities. Staff volunteer their time, and proceeds from the Richmond location will benefit Richmond Hospital Foundation.
For next year: Jingle Bell Tea at London Heritage Farm
This festive tea is fully booked this year, but try again in 2019 for delightful treats in the historic farm home.
