She was only in three scenes and her dialogue had been cut to two lines, but it didn’t take the shine off Lee Booker’s big night last week.

The 21-year-old up-and-coming Richmond actor revelled in her feature film debut, before, during and after the late-night screening at SilverCity of The Miracle Season, which charts the rise of a volleyball team in the U.S. and stars William Hurt and Helen Hunt.

Booker said she and three friends, who’re also involved in acting or filmmaking, had a great time at the screening.

“It was a really special opportunity to take my supportive friends to come see the first 'real’ movie I have been in, and I think they were just as excited as I was,” said Booker.

“All three of my scenes were included in the film but my dialogue ended up getting cut to two lines. There's still a lot of great reaction shots that my character is featured in during the final championship game in the film.

“I knew what was going to happen but I was still gripping the edges of my seat.

“Overall, (it was) a really cool opportunity and I'll be encouraging all of my friends with young girls in their lives to go see the film.”

After the screening, Booker, understandably, was all set to go see The Miracle Season again, this time with her mom, Olwen Walker.
