Projects of the 2025-26 Engaging Artists in Community Program will start in fall 2025.

Richmond-based non-profits can receive up to $12,000 to create unique art projects with artists and artist groups.

Organizations such as community associations, libraries and schools are encouraged to apply for the 2025-26 Engaging Artists in Community Program.

This initiative will pair a community partner with an artist or artistic team to work on six-month or year-long art projects that explore relevant issues in our community.

Projects will start in fall 2025 and will be organized by the City’s Public Art Program.

These may include public performances, workshops, exhibitions, literary expressions, digital-based artworks and other art forms – projects should aim to engage diverse and multigenerational audiences.

The application deadline is Nov. 15, 2024– those selected will be notified in late November and the artist selection process will start in early 2025.

To name a couple, this year's community projects included Hidden Stories of the Bioverse by Andrea Hoff alongside A.B. Dixon Elementary School, and Visions of Biophilia by Desirée Patterson, in partnership with the Richmond Nature Park Society.

Organizations are also encouraged to contact [email protected] or call 604-204-8671 in advance of submitting an application.

For more application details, visit the City of Richmond’s website.
