An award-winning poet will be offering a series of performances, writing circles, workshops and mentorship opportunities to Richmondites starting from Sept. 24.
Lindi Nolte, Richmond's 2022 Writer-in-Residence, will be launching the residency through a special free performance at Richmond Culture Days on Sept. 24 at Richmond Cultural Centre. The performance will be followed by a meet-and-greet, including a public reading.
Nolte is a South African-Canadian spoken word poet, TEDx speaker and educator. She has been involved in the Vancouver poetry slam scene since 2014 and she was crowned Vancouver’s Grand Slam Champion in 2018. She holds spoken word poetry workshops and teaches high school English in Vancouver. Nolte published her debut collection of poetry, Barefoot & Awestruck, in 2017 with Naledi Publishing House.

Nolte's residency will run from Sept. 24 to Nov. 30. Richmondites can catch her special performance at Richmond Cultural Centre at 11 a.m. on Sept 24 for free without pre-registration.
