Richmond’s Thompson Community Centre has unveiled a new mural artwork expressing the community's diverse culture.
Titled “A mid-way point: the present is an infinite moment,” the mural covers 80 by 20 feet of the centre and focuses on the multigenerational and cultural diversity of members in the Thompson community.
The mural, created by Artist in Residences Dawn Lo and April dela Noche Milne, shows the community centre’s “ever-bustling nature,” according to the BC Culture Days website.
“(It is) a safe place for connection where individuals from a diversity of cultures and backgrounds can come together to form long-lasting friendships and relationships while engaging in their activities and programs.”
The mural is one of many artworks and events highlighted in this year’s BC Culture Days.
