The words cake and lab aren't often used in the same sentence, but it is for a new bakery coming to Richmond.
Ontario-based Daan Go Cake Lab is coming to Richmond and is the first franchise location in B.C.
The "cake lab" and bakery is opening its doors on April 15 at unit 100 4731 Garden City Road, near Garden City Road and Alderbridge Way.
Daan Go Cake Lab features cakes in the shape of roasted pigs, lucky cats, a bowl of ramen and even a durian fruit.
Character macarons, pastries, and ice cream are also on its menu.
Daan Go Cake Lab was first opened in the Greater Toronto Area in 2011 by Christopher Siu, winner of MasterChef Canada season seven and now has six locations on the East Coast.
According to the bakery's Instagram page, their opening weekend is offering deals and giveaways to their patrons.
