88 Supermarket is expanding to Richmond this October.
The grocery store will be at the corner of Garden City and Leslie roads - in the former Fabricana location - and is currently being renovated.
Nicole Dang, marketing supervisor at 88 Supermarket, explained this new store will be around 19,000 square feet, all on one floor.
The 88 Supermarket chain will now have a total of three locations in the Greater Vancouver area, with the other two locations both in South Vancouver.
The first 88 Supermarket opened in 2006 on Victoria Drive, offering both Western and Asian fresh, live seafood as well as a diverse range of groceries.
The new Richmond store will also feature 88 Kitchen - with seating for customers - offering freshly prepared meals.
“Compared to our other stores, we’re going to maintain the concept of a food court,” Dang said. “We will also try to integrate more Chinese dishes like Beijing barbecue to diversify the menu.”
The new 88 Kitchen will also offer Vietnamese subs, home-cooked dishes and sushi.
