If there's ever a sign that summer is nigh, it's the opening of the Richmond Night Market.
In celebration of the Year of the Dragon, this year's summer night market theme will be "Summer Sweet Dragon."
From April 26 to Oct. 20, more than 600 international food options and 110 retail booths will be on offer at the property south of River Rock Casino.
Patrons will also get to enjoy huge bouncy castles, live performances and carnival games.
The annual summer night market received another three-year temporary commercial use permit for 2024 to 2026 in February, its second renewal since its first temporary permit in 2017.
Almost 1,500 onsite parking spots are available. Last year, the city issued more than $40,000 in fines for illegal parking near the market.
The market will be open from 7 p.m. to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and 7 to 11 p.m. on Sundays and statutory holidays from April 26 to May 31 and Sept. 2 to Oct. 14.
It will switch to summer hours between June 1 and Sept. 1, where it will be open from 7 p.m. to midnight on Fridays, 6 p.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sept. 1, as well as 7 to 11 p.m. on Sundays and statutory holidays.
General admission is $8.5 while a "Zoom Pass" for five entries is $40. Entry is free for children under 7 years old and seniors 60 or above. Tickets available at the door.
