Teen in stable condition despite multiple wounds

A 16-year-old Richmond resident is recovering in hospital after being stabbed late Sunday night.

On July 8 around 11: 30 p.m., Richmond RCMP received a report of a suspicious male in the 6000 block of Twintree Place.

A resident in the area called police to report that a young male had been stabbed.

When police arrived, a 16-year-old male was located lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds to his upper body.

The victim was transported to the BC Children's Hospital in critical condition and was later taken for surgery.

He suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital in stable condition.

Investigators are still trying to piece together the events that lead up to the stabbing. Police don't believe the stabbing occurred on Twintree Place, but in another location that is yet to be determined.
