The City of Richmond is calling on artists of all ages and abilities to designs for its annual Street Banner Contest.
This year’s contest theme highlights the participant’s daily Richmond experiences.
Submissions can be in various forms, including photography, graphic design, collage, water colour and oil paintings.
Contest submissions should reflect on one of the 10 themes:
- Innovation
- Community
- Connection
- Wildlife
- Active Living
- Urban Landscape
- Nature
- Island City
- The Arts
- Sustainability
Up to 20 submissions will be short-listed by a judging panel of community volunteer members, with the final judging by public vote.
A total of 10 winners from each category will be selected and showcased on 1,000 street banners throughout Richmond’s downtown, walking paths and main roads in and out of the city.
Winners will be awarded a $300 honorarium and a full-sized banner featuring their submission.
Submissions will be accepted from August, 9 to Sept. 17 at 5 p.m.
