Artisan market coming this weekend to Richmond’s lavender farm

For people who just want to look at the Lavenderland's gift store and artisan market, admission is free.

Lavenderland, a seven-acre lavender farm located on Steveston Highway, will be hosting an artisan market featuring Richmond artists on Aug. 14.

May Yao, community outreach and event coordinator of Lavenderland, said the market will provide opportunities for local traders to showcase their products and visitors to support local businesses.

Products featured at the market will include soap, accessories, arts and crafts and baskets, said Yao, noting that they are still looking for more artisans to join them.

For people who only want to look at the Lavenderland’s gift store and artisan market, admission is free. But for people who would like to explore further into the lavender farm, tickets booking is required.

Tickets are $15.74 /person/two hours or $42/family/two hours.

After opening to the public two months ago, Yao said the feedback from the community has been great.

“We have many people taking their photographs, and even some couples come here to propose,” said Yao.
